John Casale | Founder and President

John R. Casale has been in the bar and restaurant business since 1984. During those twenty seven years, Mr. Casale has held every restaurant position possible and achieved success at all levels. Mr. Casale’s impeccable attention to detail, motivating personality, commitment to excellence and drive for success has enabled him to compile a powerful resume and become an appealing resource for many operators.

In August of 1994, Mr. Casale moved from Chicago, Illinois to Scottsdale, Arizona.
In October of that same year, Mr. Casale with two other partners opened his first venue, a five thousand square foot live music club named Martini Ranch. Mr. Casale served as the General Manager and participated in every facet of the daily operation. In June 1996, Mr. Casale and his two partners started a limited liability company, ambitiously named Fourtune Enterprises. Fourtune Enterprises was the brainchild of Mr. Casale and served as the parent company to all new ventures.

In December of that same year Mr. Casale and Fourtune Enterprises opened The Famous Door, a 120-seat upscale supper club reminiscent of a 1920’s speakeasy. Mr. Casale served as the General Manager until the spring of 1998 when he moved into the supervisory role of Managing Partner.

In October of that same year, Mr. Casale and Fourtune Enterprises opened the second Martini Ranch location, situated in the heart of downtown San Diego, California. Mr. Casale was instrumental in the operational success of that unit, helping redefine the concept in an unfamiliar urban location.
In October of 1999, Mr. Casale and Fourtune Enterprises opened Insomnia, a 15,000 square foot, upscale dance club in downtown Scottsdale. Once again, Mr. Casale’s efforts were vital in establishing immediate market and financial success for this trendy concept.

In March of 2000, Martini Ranch in Scottsdale took over a vacant 4,000 square foot building located on the south end of the existing property. Upon successful lease negotiations, Mr. Casale and Fourtune Enterprises immediately began to renovate the building and The Shaker Room at Martini Ranch was born. It became an overnight success. Although it’s attached to Martini Ranch, the Shaker Room was marketed separately and treated as an individual entity. Since the upscale doors to the Shaker Room were opened, many imitators have surfaced, but few have achieved the financial longevity of this cutting-edge concept. Martini Ranch and the Shaker Room continue to flourish today and have become a staple in the burgeoning Downtown Scottsdale entertainment scene.

In the fall of 2000, Mr. Casale founded Anthem Restaurants of America Inc., a progressive, forward thinking, restaurant development company dedicated to growing unique restaurant concepts on the local and regional level. Sticking to his high ideals and desire to create an upscale, intimate dining venue, Furio Restaurant was immediately born. This diminutive eatery boasted an exceptional modern Italian menu in an atmosphere reminiscent of chic, urban neighborhoods most often found in Chicago, New York or San Francisco. This Downtown Scottsdale landmark had been featured in many national publications and received multiple honors of excellence including the highly coveted Sante Magazine Restaurant of the Year award.

In December of 2003, Anthem Restaurants opened Salty Senorita Authentic Mexican Cantina. With the flagship store in a prime location on Scottsdale Road, Salty Senorita instantly became a local favorite. Busy seven nights a week, this bustling operation caters to a wide variety of diners seeking exceptional food, creative libations, attentive service and a vibrant, electric atmosphere. By 2007, Salty Senorita had opened four, full service units and has become a highly sought after concession and event partner working with prominent charitable groups and sports teams including the Arizona Cardinals, Arizona Diamondbacks, Waste Management Phoenix Open, Phoenix International Raceway, San Francisco Giants, Colorado Rockies, Chicago Cubs, the Scottsdale Charros and the Phoenix Thunderbirds. Salty Senorita is a priority growth concept for Anthem Restaurants of America, Inc.

As a leader in the community, Mr. Casale served as a committee member on the Downtown Task Force for the City of Scottsdale and was appointed to the Downtown Oversight Commission to ensure that all mandates from the City directly affecting each of his venues are being properly implemented.
Additionally, Mr. Casale founded the now dormant Downtown Scottsdale Bar and Restaurant Association, which served as a civic group focused on the financial success of all Downtown area merchants and now sits on several other boards and committees including the Downtown Scottsdale and Entertainment District Association, the Cal Ripken Senior Foundation and the Horizon Little League.
Future initiatives include the introduction of the Cantina Coalition® as well as the Pint Glass Foundation® which will both serve as charity organizations and will be funded primarily through associate members of the bar and restaurant industry.

If John’s track record is any indication of his future, his dedication to excellence and desire for innovation will secure his position in the elite class of restaurant operators and solidify Anthem Restaurants of America, Inc. as a well respected leader in the national restaurant scene.
